Piher Sensing Systems, a leading provider of sensor solutions, announced the introduction of its new HCSO-1W open loop current sensor. The HCSO-1W is a high-accuracy sensor that is ideal for measuring AC and DC currents in battery management systems, industrial battery chargers and motor control applications.
Installing the sensor directly on the current-carrying conductor, without the need for additional hardware simplifies the installation process and reduces the risk of errors and downtime.
The HCSO-1W multirange transducer is based on Hall effect technology and generates a ratiometric analog output voltage signal proportional to the current flowing through the conductor. The sensor is available in a variety of current ranges and features a cable-mounting option for easy installation.
It can measure currents from ±25 A to ±1000 A in cables with diameter section up to 22,5 mm The sensor is easy to install and calibrate, making it a cost-effective choice for OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers.
Piher’s Current Transducers have TMR and Hall-Effect current sensing capabilities rated up to 4kA. They exhibit better than ±3% (hall-effect version) and ±1% (TMR version) accuracy. The advanced non-linear temperature compensation mechanisms these sensors possess ensure that their accuracy is not affected by external temperature fluctuations.

Endicott, NY September 2023 – Amphenol Industrial Operations, a global leader in interconnect systems, will be expanding its operations with a new solar product factory opening in Q4 of 2023. The new 58,000 square foot facility will be located in Mesa, Arizona, further expanding Amphenol’s manufacturing presence in the city.
This new factory is anticipated to create up to 50 new specialized jobs, and will be focused on manufacturing solar junction boxes, connectors, and other advanced interconnect assemblies to support the solar energy industry.
Following the passage of the USA Inflation Reduction Act, the launch of this state-of-the-art facility is designed to help with the increased demand for solar energy, as well as contribute to reducing the nation's carbon footprint. It will be equipped with advanced machinery and robotic technologies aimed at ensuring the highest quality and efficiency standards.

Amphenol Industrial Operations has enhanced its SURLOK Plus series with a more powerful connector with a voltage capacity of 1500VDC. The SURLOK Plus allows customers to carry higher voltages within the same envelope as its 1000VDC antecedent.
Ideal for use in the energy storage market, as well as in electric vehicle, battery solutions, fuel cell and industrial applications, this new field installable, environmentally friendly connector is a highly reliable alternative to common compression lugs. It offers high distribution of power in a small compact lug. It can be used in DC to DC / AC to DC power transfers. It also delivers power from battery cluster to PCS, as well as from a battery pack to the rest of a system.
Using industry standard screw and Busbar termination options, the SURLOK Plus does not need any special torque tools for installation. It features a quick lock and press-to-release design to accommodate various dimensional constraints.
These compact, quick mating connectors feature mechanical keyway options to prevent mis-mating, when utilizing multiple connectors within a single application. The connectors include the latest R4 RADSOK Technology that significantly increases amperage, while reducing insertion force, temperature rise and voltage drop.
The SULOK Plus connectors feature a self-cleaning grid that cleans contacts and connector. They are environmentally sealed and are rated to IP67 and IP6K9K, UL 1977/4128/TUV 2PfG2740.

This reliable new connector features a UL94-V0 hard plastic insert, and an easy-to-install and easy-to-remove crimp contact that uses industry standard crimp tooling to make on-site repairs and maintenance simple.

The GTC-E series includes a quick positive coupling that allows for fast mating and un-mating of connectors, an audible and tactile indication of full coupling for safety, and crimp termination that provides a stronger, more reliable termination method than soldering.
The connector features high shock and vibration capabilities making it suitable for high power connections. For higher amperage, lower t-rise, less resistance, and lower mating forces in a smaller footprint, RADSOK socket contacts are available.
The GTC-E Series has an operating temperature range of -40°C to +125°C. It can withstand up to 500 mating cycles.

Amphenol’s ePower-Lite 5.7 mm connector is designed to meet the needs of high voltage applications up to 850VDC, like those found in compressors and compressor controllers. It features Amphenol’s patented R4 RADSOK technology to achieve higher current ratings, lower insertion forces and lower temperature rise and contact resistance. The ePower-Lite 5.7 mm is rated up to 120 A of continuous current.
These IP2X touch-proof connectors feature a keyway design to prevent incorrect mating and a straight plug version for easy mating.
This connector series has a UL 94V-0 flammability rating, an IP67 mating when mated and an operating temperature range from -40˚C to 125˚C. For safety and performance, optional HVIL and EMI shielding is available.
